THE SERVERY
The servery is directly facing as you enter, and customers requiring a takeaway meal normally queue at the counter while those eating in the café place their orders at the table. Customers are served over a chilled display unit to the left of which is an upright chilled drinks cabinet and crisp display. Behind on the left is a toaster, griddle, microwave oven and the till on a stainless steel unit, while underneath is a small fridge. On the right is a fresh orange juice dispenser, coffee grinder, capaccino and filter coffee machines and hot water. A serving hatch gives access to the kitchen at the rear which is reached through a central door.
The kitchen is compact and well equipped. On the left hand side is a single drainer double bowl stainless steel sink, a stainless steel work surface under which is a dishwasher and above, two microwaves. On the right are a double deep fat fryer, six slot toaster, cooker and grill unit all of which are extracted by a recently fitted system. Under the units are a fridge and freezer.
Expansion potential An access door to the rear leads to an area where chairs and tables enable customers to sit outside during the summer months. This is popular and customers gain access through a gate at the rear of the property to avoid access through the kitchen area. To the left is a building which has two large rooms, the first of which was used by the previous owners for the preparation of sandwiches and buffets. This room could be used again if the new owner wishes to expand the business in this way. There are several stainless steel working surfaces, a double stainless steel sink and separate handwash facilities. There is ample fluorescent lighting and a vinyl floor.
The other room at present houses the bake-off oven a double fronted fridge, two upright freezers, and a chest freezer.
Stairs lead from this room to the office upstairs and to the toilet and washand facilities.
Reasons for selling After running the business for 7 years, the current owners now feel that it is time to pursue other interests.
It represents, especially for the first time buyer, an ideal opportunity to acquire a well established profitable business. It would particularly suit a couple who could share the workload and profit in the same way as the present owners.
However, it also offers to the more ambitious or experienced buyer the chance to operate the café and an outside catering business from the additional preparation areas which are at present underused. For someone with a catering or sandwich business it may offer a chance to expand their current operation.
